7 Tested Ways To Fight Depression

Depression is still a major world issue, especially among teenagers. 56% of world suicides is caused by depression. Depression could be caused by many factors and may be observed in diverse ways ranging from mild to aggressive cases. Many therapists offer solutions to depression victims today but sucide rates still climb. Medical experts have outlined the major causes of depression as;

Worry;
   When problems beyond our control come out way, we tend to worry a lot about them. It occupies our thoughts and influences our actions. Worry steals our sleep because we can't help but stay awake thinking of a reliable solution to the issues facing us. Depression then sets in when we can't find solutions.

Disappointment;
  At some point, we are so sure that something we are engaged in will work, the money we invest in an enterprise will bring profit, the children we raised will make us proud, we will pass that test, we will be rich and successful. When our plans and expectations are cut off, depression will set in.

Stress;
  The type of depression that comes with stress may not be so intense as that which is caused by the afore mentioned cause. Stress may make us weak, tired, sick and exhausted, most people break down, some get ill, some resort to drugs and pills, in attempts to find solutions, to find inner peace and quiet , in the end it only gets worse. When there is no form of balance in our work lives and no time for ourselves, depression will set in.

Bad Habits;
  Failed attempts to stop bad Habits like drinking, smoking, stealing, fornication, addiction to pornography
and fornication will make us feel worthless and useless. We also become depressed when we view other people living perfect lives, pleasing God in every way.

Loneliness;
   Meet the sister to depression. It is the make up of some people to be alone. Some live in very deserted places far away from human existence, in the riverside, in the woods or mountain tops. These people may never be lonely or depressed. It is a problem for outgoing people, people who like attention or people - people, those who like to be around people, When you expose these class of people to loneliness, depression can't help it, it's got to keep them company.
Having explored the major causes of depression, I'll head over to discuss the possible solutions to it;
1. Learn to smile;
   If you have problems with depression, start smiling today, sometimes for no special reasons, just smile every hour of every day. You would agree with me that smiling makes us beautiful and sweet. Start smiling today, thank me
tommorow.
2. Keep a gratitude journal;
  Sometimes our depression is traced to not having all the things we hoped for or not being completely made. Maybe it's a bow leg, or it's acne or it's not being too handsome or pretty. We should be grateful for other things you have. Our weaknesses don't define us. We are more valuable than we think we are. Keep a gratitude journal, writing down all the things you are grateful for, every day. If you want to record all the things that happened during the day, I suggest you skip the bad part, ask me for the reason later.
3. Listen to upbeat songs;
   Honestly it helps rise our spirits, make us feel positive and alive. Forget songs with sad lyrics or songs with explicit contents. Go for gospel or blues.. it really is up to you which artist to choose but if you don't ever want to be depressed again, upbeat songs??, Go for it.
4.Talk to someone;
     When I was younger, I kept many friends, all of them were pretty close to me. Honestly I thought I'd never be sad with many people around me but I was wrong, they only made me more sad because I felt the need to be like them, wear their clothes, shoes and even have the pocket money they have. Now you won't abuse me again for having one friend, will you?. You have an issue, tell it to your friend, you need company, walk to his house. Talk to someone, be with people.
5. Exercise, Rest and Sleep
      I ignored this topic in elementary school because I thought it was punishment, Now I know it's necessary. Exercise does something
to us, it refuels us, makes us agile, active and vibrant. Usually when I get too entangled in activities and things get out of my control, I sleep and when I wake, I can only feel better.
6. Fellowship;
  There is a cleansing that takes place in the fellowship of brethren. Go to church on Sundays, listen to the preacher, he always has something for everyone. If you can get active in service, it gives us a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
7. Declutter;
   Clean up your act, change bad habits, become a neater person. Get away everything that is not in use now. Give out your old stuffs, be organized and orderly. My dad spoke of being a Minimalist once and I fell in love with the lifestyle. Too much stuff... Too much garbage, it only makes things worse.
